Clark Townsend
Clark Townsend was part of the original faculty and staff for Green River Community College. Having been a community college student himself at Lower Columbia Community College in Longview, WA, Clark could relate to the student experience, first as a faculty member in electronics and then as an administrator, where he eventually became the first Executive Director of the GRCC Foundation. Throughout his career and his life, Clark remained passionate about creating opportunities for students through funds raised for the GRCC Foundation. Clark began the planned giving program at Green River and would always start his conversations with prospective donors by saying he and his wife had included GRCC Foundation as one of four charities in their estate plan. Clark passed away from cancer in June 2011, but his legacy lives on through the Dr. Clark and Pam Townsend Endowment.
